Koto has a stitch pattern that was inspired by the grid of streets in Kyoto. The sample is knit in madder-dyed Trek yarn for a traditional Japanese color.
Trek has a great stitch definition that is ideal for this design. Toes and heels are adorned with duplicated stitches that resemble sprays of tiny bubu arare rice crackers. This adornment also works as a pre-darning to make the area stronger against wear.
